Drone Survey and Mapping

Droneflight can reach even the most inaccessible, hazardous or large-scale sites using the latest drone technology to provide a range of survey and mapping services.  Our highly-experienced team can safely capture high-resolution imagery and survey-grade data to a sub centimetre accuracy level faster than traditional methods.

What can we do?

We can deliver a range of different types of surveys including:

  • Topographical & Mapping Surveys
  • Visualisations & Modelling for Planning and Rights of Light
  • Condition Surveys
  • Property Inspections
  • Site Visualisations
  • Line of Sight Surveys (Telecoms)

Our deliverables include:

  • High-Resolution Photography
  • Aerial Maps
  • 360-degree panoramas
  • 3D Point Clouds
  • Visual inspection reports

Our Drones

We use a range drones to enable us to get the data you need.  These include:

Aerialtronics Zenith a highly resilient and capable platform that can operate in high winds and rain.  The Zenith also offers us the capability to lift very high resolution cameras including the 100mp PhaseOne, gas and radiation sensors.

QuestUAV DataHawk PPK with its long range operating capabilities and very high precision PPK GPS system on board we can rapidly survey areas without the need to deploy ground control points.

3D point clouds look amazing, they can lull you into a feeling of absolute accuracy when in fact they are not.  Its important to understand the quality criteria you need for your project and if your supplier can deliver it.

To deliver highly accurate surveys sufficient ground control points must be used, tied to an appropriate coordinate system and datum.  We make use of traditional approaches, Propeller Aeropoints and Septentrio PPK.

There’s a significant difference between delivering absolute accuracy and relative accuracy in terms of skills needed, time and cost.
